smiley recognises the numbers from zero through to twenty. he can also count from one to about twelve some days, other days he misses a few numbers or just guess the order, but generally, he's not all that bad.
since he knows what the number ten looks like, i showed him a week or so ago that if we put another zero on the end, it makes it one hundred. he says it like "one hun-ded".
he was playing with my little digital kitchen timer thing just now (he loves to press the buttons) & it was showing 8:00. he looked at it & told me that it says eight hundred. how clever is that?! i'm sure that at just over three years old i wouldn't have figured out that since a one with two zeros on the end in one hundred, that an eight with two zeros is eight hundred.
what can i say? genuis. heh.

very astute of him indeed. by the time i got to kindergarten i knew all my letters, numbers, colors and most shapes. he'll be ready with all this great tutoring he's getting.
