nail cutting - 08:23 AM

i was chatting online with jade the other day & the conversation turned to trying to cut the fingernails & toenails of our various offspring. actually, it turned that way after talking about m&m's when i asked her if she was able to use them as a good form of bribery with her children. she acknowleged that sometimes it was useful for when trying to cut toenails.
i said that my latest trick with trying to get smiley's toe & fingernails cut was to wait until he was doing something he really liked & then start cutting & tell him that if he didn't let me finish cutting them that i would take away that thing he really liked. so for me it's not really bribery so much as extortion.

i just woke from the strangest dream where i'd somehow acquired a young cat. a friend washed the cat for me & it was my job to find a towel for it to dry it. i was in a supermarket somewhere & was desperately trying to find something suitable to dry this damn cat. they were about to close, so when i was going in the entrance, almost all of the staff were coming out the same path (but they were going out & i was going in) & i had to try to push past them or beat them through the entrance or something.
then when i finally got back into the car with the towels, i wrapped the strange bib thing i'd gotten (there weren't normal towels in the supermarket, for some reason) around the cat & took off, but i wasn't even sure if the cat was actaully in the car. i was really tired & couldn't push on the pedals properly & was going all around these back streets backwards & in circles. finally i got the car going forward & started to head off in the right direction to home.
as i was driving though, i was still worried that i had no idea if the cat was still in the car, but i didn't want to stop in case i ended up going all backwards & around in circles again, so i just kept driving, hoping the cat was in the car somewhere & thinking that i wasn't a very good mother to this cat.
very strange dream. i kept waking during it & then going back to the dream until that point just a few minutes ago when i woke & thought, "stuff this. i'm going to get up," so that i didn't have to go back to that weird dream again & look after that damn cat.
i don't even like cats!!
