back in chiang mai - 06:22 AM

so we're back in chiang mai. i so love it here. except for the absence of family, it almost feels like coming home. the weather's been nice in the eighteen or so hours we've been here. rain has been forecast for the whole time we're here, but it hasn't poured down on us yet.
smiley started to get tired quite early last night & after a false start where he got a second wind when i tried to get him to go to sleep, we took him out for a ride around town on a tuktuk & he promptly fell asleep within about ten minutes. we got back to the hotel & he's still asleep (at least as of fifteen minutes ago when i left him upstairs in bed with shroom) more than twelve hours later! i guess he needed to catch up on some sleep as well, because that's a mammoth sleep for him. i had a pretty good sleep, myself. best one i've had in quite a while.
actually, the bed is a bit hard compared to what i'm used to (is it something with the non-western world? it was the same in bahrain) so my back is a bit sore, but aside from that, i feel quite well rested. as for my sore back, it's just as well we're in the land of great massages. lol!!

glad you are getting some rest. enjoy the vacation. oh, and there is noting worng with a 12-hours sleep. i do it now and then.
