found the missing boxes - 05:15 AM

so it turns out that the missing boxes are still in bahrain, just as i suspected. however, they were never 'missing' as such. they didn't include them with the shipment because the total weight was over the 350kg limit. anything above that is to be paid for by us, not by the company.
would have been nice of them to let us know & tell us how much over it was etc so we could arrange for payment & have everything shipped all at the same time.
so at least we know where everything is & why it's not here. shroom's due back today so he'll probably arrange it sometime in the next few days. we knew it was going to be way over the limit & shroom was happy to pay for it, but it's just so stupid that they didn't let us know before the shipment was sent. strange people.
puzzle solved. now another few weeks wait. poor real girl.
"Strange" was not the first adjective I thought of when reading your post...hehe... but yes, I agree, strange people!

I wonder if that's anything to do with him now being an *ex* employee, rather than an employee.
