bear in the big blue house - 06:59 AM

once a week, smiley & i usually hire a couple of weekly dvds each from the video shop. i help him to choose some good ones & just lately, i got him a couple of bear in the big blue house dvds. he loves them. he calls him the 'big blue bear in the big blue house'. lol! 
actually, though, i'm not sure who loves them more, him or me. thet characters are cute, the music is fanstastic & really varied, the story lines are great & there's always a good moral to the story, such as talking to someone about being scared of something, or treating everyone well, even if they're a bit different to you. that sort of thing. also, they don't talk down to kids, the bear always talks in normal language & even uses 'bigger' words such as one time when he said of tutter the mouse, "tutter has a very extensive wardrobe."
it's made by the muppets & jim henson people. i used to absolutely love the muppet show when it was on years & years ago. in fact, one day, i'd love to get all the muppet shows on dvd if such a thing exists. i have a great deal of respect for jim henson & his creature people. they do amazing work.

i think stephanie's seen that one on tv a few times and she seems to like it too.
recently they had some kind of giveaway thing with the newspaper in england and they gave away all these dvds of the kids shows on bbc, with just a couple of episodes each. lisa sent a whole bunch to stephanie and abigail and we have been "blessed" with some good ones and some.. less good ones
do u still have a tv card? for about 2 weeks i set my computer up to record, for example, bananas in pjs and then i made a dvd of all the eps i had recorded. easy way to get kids tv dvds
