things i love about my new car - 07:27 PM
(filed under 'general')
here are some things i'm loving about fiona, my new (for me) car:
- she's small enough so i can reach across easily to the other side to lock or unlock the doors or open or close the windows. most cars are too big inside for me to do this easily. with most other cars, i have to practically crawl into the other seat to do so.
- she's small enough so that i can get into my garage without hitting the cars in the parking spaces (which are way too close) opposite my garage door.
- she has great visibility.
- she's a four door, but has a hatchback. two door cars are a real pain in the bum when you have a kid you have to put in & out of the back.
- she's a bit like the tardis, in that she's quite small, but you can fit some surprisingly large things inside.
- she has a great set of speakers.
- her side windows can be adjusted from the inside. they're not electric windows, but i know many older cars don't even have the little waggly knob thing that moves them without having to open the window.
- she's very fuel efficient.
- she has a cup holder.
- she's not brand new, so i don't have to be worried about the first scratch or dint.
- she came with a name! i've never had a car that's had a name before.
i'm really enjoying fiona, she's such a lovely little car. it's nice to have a car of my very own, especially when i know her previous owner cared very well for her & loved her as much as i do.
never knew you were so automotively techno smart. "waggly knob thing". always wondered what that was called. now i know.
Hee! We have names for our cars too. Our last one (ancient white subaru) was the Night Goat. It took us on some very long road trips but died on a short trip back from the supermarket. Our current one is the Blue Turtle (subaru outback). Our friends call their car the Grey Nurse Shark. I think I'm spotting a pattern...
I'm glad you love her as much as you do! It's lovely to know she's gone to such a loving home!
oh.. and for edwin, these are all my photos I have of her online.
