a long time follower of my website, don from kansas, is visiting australia & is passing through brisbane so he's taken the opportunity to meet smiley & i!
he arrived this morning & very adventurously drove himself from the airport to my place. we had a casual chat this morning & in the afternoon we went to the shopping centre to have lunch & get some supplies for tomorrow when we'll go by train into the city to the botanical gardens & have a picnic brunch. depending on smiley & if he's tired or full of energy, we might then take a walk through southbank.
it's lovely to show around someone who's keen to see the real australia. 
he's off to gladstone on friday, but will be passing back through brisbane again a week or so later, so i might take him for a bit of a longer jaunt to the gold coast once he's no longer jet-lagged & sick of sitting on a plane for hours on end.
