rudi & audrey gave me a couple of single seater armchairs for my place when i moved in here (actually, they gave me a whole set with a three seater couch as well, but there wasn't room for the three seater since i was also getting a three seater sofa bed from my mum so i'll have a place for visitors to sleep).
they're lovely old armchairs & you'd pay bucket loads these days to get something of that quality. when they gave them to me, i had the thought right from the beginning that they should be reupholstered. they're top quality & the only thing on them which isn't so good any more is the fabric they're covered in, since they're quite old. in fact, there aren't even any holes in the fabric yet, it's wearing through fairly evenly, but they are definitely in need of some loving care.
so i had a man around today to quote for having them done. this is the fabric i chose:

they're going to look amazing once they're been recovered!
They're gonna look great! Love a bit of recycling.

i would consider "slate" to be a bluish-grey color. this seems to be more of a teal tone to me. the pattern seems a bit conservative for you. i'm surprised you like it. i like it though.
