grey hair - 09:44 PM
the other day, when i was standing at the side of her car, saying bye to my sister from the picnic we had in the park, she noticed a single grey hair in my head. it's above my left ear. i managed to find it again later in the bathroom mirror & yep, it's definitely grey.
when she told me, i was actually kind of impressed. if i go grey all over, then that'll be one way to be different from my peers which won't even require regular visits to the hairdresser to maintain.
i'm not worried in the least about going grey. mum started going grey quite young (i have no idea when, but it could have been around my age or younger) but she's been colouring it ever since the first few grey hairs appeared. i haven't seen mum's natural hair colour for as long as i can remember. in fact, i'm not even sure what her natural hair colour is! or at least what it was before it went grey.
anyway, my point is that i'm quite happy to go grey & if i ever do dye my hair again, it won't be to cover the grey, it'll just be because i want it to be something different than mostly everyone i know .. but grey could be kind of cool!
my first grey popped up when i was a teenager. now i'm all grey. i don't care about that, i only wish they would stick around and not fall out. my barber thinks a comb over is the answer, i think its ugly. next haircut might be a buzz cut job. lol
welcome to the world of grey Corri! I have had loads of grey hairs for at least 3 years. I will not let it go natural till I'm older though! I like the idea of going completely grey and being a platinum blonde (like my mum is now) - or having lovely completely white hair like my grandma had....
PS. Dave, fight the comb over. It is never EVER a good idea......
helen. thanks for the input. i hate the look of comb overs and never really noticed it on me until i saw a few pictures. never again. buzz cut for me next time.
I've been going grey for about 5 years now. The women on my mum's side of the family go grey young. But I won't dye my hair. I figure I've earned these grey hairs, and there's no need to hide them.

Going grey is okay, it helps people guessing my real age
