happy chopper is happy indeed - 04:30 PM

oh yes, i do so love my tupperware happy chopper.
in the absense of a blender to make a chocolate banana milkshake (i gave my blender to my sister as a long-term loan when we got rid of all our stuff to go to bahrain & i don't have the heart to take it back off her since she uses it all the time), i've had to mash a banana with a fork & then shake it up in a bottle with milk, ice, sugar & cocoa. it works okay, but it takes a while. it also comes out with small lumps of banana, but that's okay.
so i had the thought to try to mash it up in my happy chopper. it did quite a fine job of it. maybe the pieces are slightly larger than if i mashed it with a fork, but it was so much quicker. after the banana was chopped/mashed, i added the sugar & cocoa & then a small amount of milk to help mix it all together & it worked really well! then i did the usual & put it into a screw top bottle with more milk & some ice & just gave it a good shake.
mind you, it's about as expensive as a cheap blender, but at least you know it's quality. the happy chopper would have to be one of the most useful gadgets i've ever owned.

smiley's getting really good at describing things for which he can't remember the name. for instance, he'd been eating some bacon before & just now he came to me asking for the "long white fing for getting food out. dentist fing." "you mean dental floss?" "yes!" (nodding). hehe. well done.
