telling the time - 09:08 AM

smiley can now tell the time with some accuracy. he's been able to do it better since one day a week or two ago when i arrived to pick him up from kindy at five o'clock.
before i left him there for the day, i told him that i'd be back at five o'clock, to help him know that i was indeed returning. when i arrived, everyone was outside, so i let myself out the back door into the yard area & saw him outside near the wall with a couple of teachers.
they spotted me before he did & so with cheeky grins, one of them quickly moved into his line of sight to hide me. i ducked down a bit to make sure he couldn't see me.
they said to him, "riley! riley, what's the time?"
he looked up at the clock on the wall & said, "five o'clock!"
".. & who comes at five o'clock?"
"mummeeeeeeee!" he said with much glee as they moved out of the way. he saw me & ran toward me with a huge smile & gave me a big hug. hehe. it was pretty damn cute. 
so anyway, since then, we've been occasionally working on telling the time. he's sitting beside me now & moving the hands of a toy clock around to make 'whatever' o'clock & saying, "it's ten o'clock & maisy's making a cake" or various other activities. he's getting it all right, too.
he's rather obsessed with clocks. loves them. it was one of his first three words when he bagan to talk, in fact. "light" was his first recognisable word. then "fan" & "clock".
