jewellery making withdrawal - 03:26 PM

this morning i got out my jewellery pliers to fix one of the aluminium support bits on smiley's umbrella (geez. what do you call those bits that form the frame of the umbrella when it's open?). while i had them out i used them to make a couple of tiny adjustments on one of the bracelets i made which i currently wear most of the time:
using my jewellery pliers, especially on my bracelet, made me get the urge to do some more jewellery. it's been months since i've made any jewellery. the main reason i haven't made anything, aside from being busy settling into a new house & a new routine with just smiley & i, is because i have no dedicated place to do that sort of stuff.
to create successfully, i need a place where i can leave it all lying out while i look at it & think about it, or when i need to go off to do other things. if i have to put it away in between sessions (for instance, if i was doing it on the dining room table), then it really interrupts the flow of creativity.
i don't have the money at this stage for the table that i want, but perhaps i'll make saving for it it one of my priorities so that i can get back into jewellery making sooner rather than later.
Your jewellery is very special - it would be a shame not to be exercising your creative muscles. I totally understand the need for a workspace that you don't have to clear away for everyday living - good luck with finding a table/desk.
