the funny things of which children are scared - 11:32 PM

sometimes smiley gets scared of the most odd & seemingly innocuous things. he's watching a children's dvd which features two farmer characters (milly & max of "the new macdonald's farm", if you're inclined to care) & there's a part in there where millie reads a story to the animals. the story is animated & shows some scenes where it's raining.
smiley came rushing over to me, running away from the tv, because he was scared of the story.
i would have thought the people-sized puppets with gigantic heads would be more scary than an animated sheep in the rain .. but each to their own, i guess. lol! 
the wizard of oz used to scare me. not anymore, lol.
My now 13 year old son used to hide up the hallway when the Badger from Beatrix Potter came on. He was the same age as Smiley is now...

have you asked him why he is scared? there might be something in the dvd that you didn't notice. it might be worth a watch.
