a friend & i went on a photo-taking expedition into the city on wednesday. it was anzac day & so we also took some pics around the memorial. i'm glad she suggested it, because i wouldn't have thought to go there as well as the other places we went.

writing the descriptions for them & thinking about it actually made me get a bit teary. war is a horrible thing, but i have a lot of respect for those who fight for their country & for what they believe in. it's the ultimate sacrifice.

yes, war is a sad event. even sadder when one realises its usually based on politicians that can't get along with each other and the military is left with cleaning up the mess. gee, can't we all just get along.

This is something like our Veteran's Day in the US (celebrated in November).
It is sad to see the numbers of the WW1 veterans to just a mere handful. They were in their teens or early 20's at the time 90 years ago!
