cheap crap - 01:52 PM

i think i've had enough of bothering with cheap stuff. i don't usually tend to shop at cheap shops anyway (crazy clarks type shops, discount shops, dollar stores, you know?), unless for something that's a cheap distraction for smiley like stickers or a cheap toy.

mind you, even really cheap stickers aren't so great because often they're not cut properly & removing them from the sheet proves difficult for smiley's little hands. more than just a few times, he's ended up with an animal sticker with its head or leg accidentally torn off.

i bought some rolls of sticky tape at kmart the other day which were dirt cheap &, unfortunately, they act like it, too. for starters, it's exceedingly difficult to find the end of the roll. it's thick enough &, surprisingly, doesn't tear when you don't want it to, but it also doesn't tear when you do want it to! okay, so you can remove a piece eventually using the little serrated edge on the holder, but you have to struggle every time.

i have no problem buying discounted items - toys, clothes, whatever - but if it's not a brand name, or if i can't see evidence of it being constructed well with good quality components, then i think that most times, i'm not going to bother. i just become frustrated when it falls apart quickly, or is difficult to use & i have to end up spending more money again for a better one.

in the long run, not only would i have saved the initial money i spent, but i would also have saved the time & petrol spent having to go out to purchase a replacement, as well as the frustration & disappointment when the first one performs to less than my satisfaction.

yup! if it has a cheap price tag then its a cheap item. the saying is true "you get what you pay for".
