decrepid/decrepit - 12:15 PM
writing that last entry, i used the word, 'decrepit'. for years, i've always thought it was 'decrepid' ending with a 'd' & i've been spelling it as such.
only recently have i seen it written down & noticed that it ended with a 't'. i thought it was misspelled when i saw it, but it turns out it was me that was spelling it incorrectly .. all this time! argh!
oh well, at least i know now.

Can't blame yourself, it's not 'timit' or 'hybrit' is it?

And funnily enough, none of my spell-checkers pick it up. I still get confused with learned and learnt.

This one reminds me of a science article on the new high tempeture superconductors. The administrative assistant mistakenly replaced 'Y' (yttrium) with 'Yb' (Ytterbium). Caused a bit of a rowe when everyone else in the physics community tried out the mistaken formula and it did not work.
