smiley's latest thing is a kind of version of the "but why?" that many kids seem to go through.
he'll ask, "mummy? what happened if there was no trees?" or, "what happened if there was no roads?" or, "what happened if there was no cars?" or even, as he asked this afternoon, "what happened if there was no way to go?" after he asked me if i was sure i was going the right way to the shops. lol!

smiley & i were lying in bed for a while this morning after we woke up, snuggling up under the blankets from the cold & he suddenly piped up.
"hey, mummy .."
"yes, darling?"
"i was thinking that i should go to the donut shop to buy a chocolate donut."
i thought that was really cute.
