since smiley's been sick with his cold (there are a few long-lasting colds doing the rounds, it seems), he's recently developed a cough which for the last week or so seemed to mostly bother him at night & first thing in the mornings, but last night he slept through the whole night without waking once to make grumpy noises or cough (which means that i also got a half-decent sleep). maybe he's on the mend. woohoo!
