daddy leaving today - 09:44 AM

shroom leaves for belguim today for his new job there. his flight goes at around 1pm. smiley had a sleep over last night at his nanna & poppy's & will go with them to drop his daddy off at the airport.
shroom's been preparing smiley that he's going away & that he won't see him for quite a while, but i'm not sure that smiley really quite understands that concept. he's become so used to seeing his dad every day, that i think he's forgotten what it was like when he was thailand for six or so months & we were here. he told me then, a number of times, that he was sad because he missed daddy.
it breaks my heart when he's sad about something that i can't fix. i know life is full of those sorts of situations, but it doesn't make me any less sad to see him suffering just because i understand that it's unavoidable.
shroom & i have discussed making a regular few times a week that we actually plan around, so that smiley & he can get on cam together. i'm pleased that we have that option. at least they get to see & speak to each other in an almost face-to-face way.
shroom says he probably won't get a chance to come back here for at least a couple of years, but his mum & dad are keen to go & visit him over there as soon as possible, so when that times comes, he hopes that they might like to bring smiley with them for a visit. i'd be happy for that to happen. i have no wish for smiley to be apart from his dad, so any chance he gets to visit him will be taken.
