smiley was playing a computer game where the letters he was putting on a blackboard were disappearing one by one. you see, there's a twenty character limit, & as he put on each successive letter over that limit, the letters he'd placed on first were disappearing & he was getting quite annoyed.
i explained it to him (for the umpteenth time) & said, "it's just the way it is, mate! i can't change the game. there's no point in getting so cranky over it."
he replied, "i'm not cranky, i'm grumpy!"
