hungry this morning - 09:49 AM
after starting yesterday on the road to healthier eating & feling quite satisfied & not hungry at all by the end of the day, this morning i do feel hungry after my morning shake. it's not even 10 am i'm already thinking about my morning tea.
quite a few years ago, shroom & i went on a diet together by eating the food from lite & easy (or one of those companies where you buy full meals from them. i can't quite recall who it was now). the first week or two—since the portion sizes were much smaller than the oversized portions we were used to eating at the time—i felt hungry every day & spent much of my time trying to resist eating the unhealthy snacks which i'd made a habit of eating daily. once the first two weeks were over, my body was used to eating the much more suitably-sized portions & i didn't feel hungry anymore.
let's hope this phase goes quickly. at least with this healthy eating plan, it's up to me to choose from the good variety of foods suggested to make up the other meals of the day. that is, the ones that aren't the meal replacement shakes.
when i spoke to the lady at the chemist before buying any of the shakes, i made sure that the shakes didn't contain any artificial sugars. i don't like that stuff at all. even before they became really popular & all sorts of urban legends (true or otherwise) started spreading about them, i disliked it. it tastes terrible & like chemicals.
if you're serious about losing weight, then surely it's far better to limit your intake of foods & snacks that contain sugar & fat, than it is to replace it with something that fake & unnatural. swap the unhealthy food with healthy, unprocessed, natural foods.
excuse me while i go through a food obsession phase over the next week or two. lol!
