clean up day - 07:03 AM
i've got a big job ahead of me today. last night at mum's place, when i swapped our cars back, unpacked mum's car & then repacked most of it back into my own car to bring it all home, i chose to leave the muddy stuff there.
i simply don't have a space big enough here to spread everything out to clean it. mum's back yard, & the driveway that leads up to it & into the car port, is big enough to spread out not only the huge tarp, but probably also the tent & the giant picnic blanket that i used as our 'floor', all at the same time.
when i was packing up in the mud, & seeing how it was getting even muddier as i had to lay everything on the ground to fold it up on my own, i was thinking how on earth i was going to clean & dry it all to get it ready for storage for the next time we go camping. the grass area in my back yard is only just big enough to set up the tiny two man dome tent, let alone a gigantic 12' x 18' tarpaulin.
so today i'll head back to mum's place for the clean up. rudi & audrey have been kind enough to keep smiley there for me so that i can get on with the job. the weather forecast is for more rain, but i can probably leave everything set up to dry out over a few days. the other advantage at mum's place is that i'll have someone to hold the other end of the tarp when i fold it up so that it won't have to be put back on the ground. also, the grass at mum's hasn't been stomped into muddy oblivion, so even if something is laid on the grass, it's not going to end up covered in mud.

you didn't mention the condition of your mom's car with all the mud. i imagine some cleaning is due there as well. give yourself a break and take it to a car wash.
