bra shopping - 06:33 AM

yesterday i went bra shopping for the first time in ages. i think the last time i bought bras was just before we left for bahrain. hmm, let me think. that must have been just over two years ago. we left for bahrain in about november of 2005, so yeah, just over two years.
needless to say, i chose the time to do it while smiley was at his nanna & poppy's place. clothes shopping with smiley is not the most pleasant experience. he gets bored in about three seconds flat & starts causing trouble.
when i was at woodford, i bought a nice top from fairy floss which is off the shoulder. i'd worn it once, but i had to just push my bra straps down, which isn't all that comfortable. so mostly i wanted to buy myself a strapless bra.
i found a good one there. they had 25% off the bras on that rack, so i took the chance to buy two more normal day-to-day bras as well. remember, guys, that these are things we strap around ourselves almost every waking hour. when you find a good, comfortable bra that's not over-the-top expensive, you have to get more than one.
i'm actually finding this one a smidge tight, but the lady reckons it'll 'give' a bit after a few wears. if it doesn't feel a bit better by saturday (when i'll be going in to pick up the second one they were bringing in since they were out of the colour i wanted), i might get an extender for it, just until it does 'give' some more.
the strapless bra was the best one i've seen. i guess they've changed a bit (finally!) since the last time i bought a strapless bra. for starters, i could actually breathe while wearing it. the last strapless i had was so constricting (if it was done up any looser, it slipped downwards) that on the few occasions i wore it, i was dying to get out of the thing. it felt like it was crushing my lungs.
also, my boobs don't look like they're in the middle of having a mammogram in it. previous to trying this one, all the strapless ones i'd tried sort of gave my boobs this squished up shape. not a good look.
so that's bra shopping all done for another two years, i hope!

Well...
I was home (in the US) last month as part of my duties, and had the wonderful opportunity to be home for a few days.
YES! Wife was very happy to see her favorite Navy officer. Celebrate with a quick outing to Victoria's Secret.
5 sets of matching bras and knickers and a flannel night shirt. The numbers almost melted off the ol' Visa card. LOL.
At least I got to see her wear them before I came back to Kuwait.
