there was no 'taking it out' on smiley - 01:11 PM
(filed under 'smiley')
let's clear this up, people. i need to respond to some comments on the entry about when smiley cut my thumb.
i didn't 'take it out' on smiley. i told him off just as i would have told him off for anything that he's done many times before & which he knows he needs to take care with, but which he didn't.
he's been using scissors for about a year & can use them very well with his very advanced fine motor skills (for instance, he's been holding pens & pencils the 'proper' way ever since he started holding them, which is surely about three years by now). thus why he was told off for not taking due care with something that he knows very well how to do. in fact, he's been cutting the yarn for me with those same scissors quite regularly for several weeks & has been careful with it in the past.
i was just venting about having a very deep cut in my thumb. it's not like i beat the child senseless or anything. he didn't even get anything as harsh as a spanking or a time out, for crying out loud! he wasn't even punished at all!
