accented counting - 09:31 AM

perhaps i need a 'i'm such a dag' category for things like this.

when i'm doing crochet where i have to count a lot of stitches out loud (always out loud, otherwise i end up losing count), then i often count in different accents to amuse myself while i'm doing it.

mostly i end up doing a southern american drawl, but sometimes it'll be a typical northern accent (i assume. that sort of accent we hear most on american tv here, i guess), a mexican accent, or maybe an indian accent.

very occasionally it might be just a silly voice i make up, or maybe a cartoon character such as elmer fudd.

mind you, i only do this when i'm alone, not in front of other people! lol! *chuckle*

do you absorb accents from other people? I know I do, and I have to try really hard not to, otherwise I feel like they'll think I'm copying them and being smart or something *wink*

ok lady, i'm calling in the guys in white coats with butterfly nets. melanie, i do that too without thinking. i'll find myself in a convo using their speech inflections. definitely not on purpose.
