ritalin for toddlers!? - 07:47 AM
are they serious??! prescribing ritalin for kids as young as two?!
there's something seriously wrong when that's going on. for starters, that it's being presrcibed in the first place. does no one see that's something's going terribly wrong if so many kids are diagnosed with this thing? if it's a true diagnosis, then maybe the root cause of this should be looked at. food allergies/intolerances, perhaps? if it's not a true diagnosis, then that's a whole other issue.
oh, man. this is just so wrong on so many levels.

diagnosing kids as hyper-active and giving them this drug is very easy for the medical folks. my son was given it at age 5. it made him sick and i stopped giving it to him immediately. the over active phase ended by itself. too many times a doctor is too quick to come to a conclusion and move on. a sign of our over population problems i guess.

IMHO: very few children need ritalin. It is practically overprescribed for parents (though the children take it) whom can not cope with the stresses of parenting, nor are willing to be proper parents, and let their children run free.
Also, it is a mistake to think that all ills can be cured with pills, especially when some (inexpensive) prevention can preclude the use of those (expensive) pills.

they are both right. hang in there and see if you can get
through this without the medicine. that is only the last resort after everything else has failed. we wish you
and riley the best

a good diagnosis is inportant, then the pills. but only when there is thew sickness.
