bodyguardz gadget skins, brilliant customer service - 08:11 AM
(filed under 'linky lurrve')
ages ago i found an great clear skin for my palm tx (pda/organiser). it's called bodyguardz & it's awesome. covering a device with a bodyguardz skin is a great alternative to leather or hard plastic covers, because it leaves your device looking exactly the way it came out of the box, but completely protected from scratches.
so when i got my new nokia 6110 navigator the other day (didn't cost me a cent. gotta love phone upgrades with your current provider. hehe) with its shiny body & nice large screen, i looked to see if bodyguardz made a cover for it. i then happily purchased one from my local australian supplier of the skins, scratchproofcovers.com.au.
when i fitted it, i found i had some issues getting the corners of the back piece to lie flat. it kind of buckled no matter what i did to make it stick down flat. since each pack comes with two complete sets of covers, i ripped off the first one & then tried again with the second one, employing a slightly different technique to get it to lie flat. it worked a bit better, but i still ended up having to cut out the buckled bits because they stuck into my hand uncomfortably when i held the phone.
i emailed scratchproofcovers.com.au to see if they'd had reports of issues from anyone else using that cover. he politely pointed me to the main usa-based company, said that he'd make sure i was looked after, & asked me to keep him posted on my progress. i did as i was asked & i very quickly received a response from them. they had their designer look at it & told me that he'd made some modifications. they also said that they'd send me two of the newly modified back pieces!
so the new skins are on their way. i'm really impressed with the customer service from both companies. it seems there are so few companies left in the world that believe in looking after the customer once they already have your money. i'm so pleased & impressed about my dealings with them.
too many people only give the bad news, so i thought i'd take the time to pass on my good experience. if you're thinking of getting a skin for your own device, i fully recommend bodyguardz, or, if you're in australia, scratchproofcovers.com.au.
