so we have our first case of head lice. i've had them before as a child, of course, but i can't even remember the last time i was infected with them.
guess who we got them from? bruce's boy, trent. he brought them home from school, as is the usual story. smiley & trent play together as young boys do, & i suppose smiley picked up some of trent's lice, then i got them from smiley.
poor louise (bruce's daughter) has them, as well. louise was complaining last night, 'i'm too old to have nits!!' she turned 21 a couple of weeks ago. i think if it was me at that age with nits, i'd be pretty unhappy about it, too. i suppose the reason i'm not all that worried about it now, much older than louise, is because i'm a mum & i sort of expect these things to happen at least once with a young child.
we've managed to avoid them so far since we don't usually hang out with 'school kids'. the homeschooling community seems to avoid most of the typical school ailments which go around: colds & flus, nits, chicken pox, etc.
bruce has his hair shaved really short, so he hasn't been infested, despite me rubbing my hair over his head when i saw him last night to get him back for giving them to us. lol!!
