freezing & boiling in abu dhabi - 09:47 AM
(filed under 'general')
abu dhabi is a very hot place. it's summer here & the regular temperatures at the moment are around the 40 degrees centigrade (about 104 fahrenheit). sometimes we walk out from the exhibition centre at about 2 am & it literally feels like we're walking into a sauna.
in the hotel room, though, it seems we get to vary it from a middle east summer to a melbourne winter. it goes through this cycle every ten to twenty minutes & it's really annoying. we have to keep our jumpers & warm slippers handy so that we can rug up, then ten minutes later start to strip off again.
the tiniest adjustment on the thermostat makes a world of difference .. & not in a good way. as i type, i can feel the air pumping from the vent on the wall changing to hotter. give me a minute or two & i'll be removing my jumper again.
it's been the rare hotel that i've been in which has air conditioning that works well.
You are such a world traveler Coralie, lol. The A/C just doesn't work right, wonder if the hotel recognizes it? I mean, it isn't good for business. Enjoy the experience world experience. When are you coming to the States??

The air-con sounds like my workplace, either unbearably hot or freezing in the office, which makes working in it rather challenging.
