travel maladies in abu dhabi - 11:31 AM

my body has been feeling the effects of being in a different place.
although i've not eaten anything very strange, the food has been a variety of styles from various places around the world. &, since it's restaurant food, it's generally richer & more full of spices & flavour than my usual fare.
so, when i accidentally bit the inside of my cheek when i was eating last week, with the richness of the food, it took a bit longer to heal than usual. which meant that i then grazed it several times more since it was still a bit swollen. it felt more tender than i've experienced previously, too. i guess the rich spices were making it flare up a bit. i did a couple of salt water swishes which helped, & so far, i've managed to not do it again.
perhaps from the food, perhaps from all the fruit i've been eating at the breakfast buffet most days, perhaps from the occasional contact with local water, my guts have been playing up a bit. it's nothing too serious. in fact, mostly it's all talk & no action. i feel an urge to go, as though i'd better go right now but when i sit, nothing happens anyway. it's more annoying than worrying.
i'm sure it'll be easily fixed with a round of probiotics when i get home. that's in only five days, anyway. i'm still enjoying my time here, but i'm missing like crazy my two favourite boys there, so i'm looking forward to getting home soon.
