i can't be bothered turning the questions into my usual no caps style, so they can stay as is.
1. What did you do in 2008 that you’d never done before?
fell in love with someone 14 years older than me.
2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions?
i never make any. i make goals all the time, but never new year's resolutions.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
my friend julie. her third child.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
thankfully, no.
5. What countries/provinces did you visit?
abu dhabi!
6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
more of my own income so i can get off government benefits by the end of the year.
7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory?
i don't know the actual date, but it was sometime in early april (or perhaps late march) when i was driving up the coast & had the strong thought that i knew i was going to meet someone soon.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
starting my own business (i.e. becoming a site distributor for nana may's) & establishing a stream of income with it, albeit a kind of weak one at the moment.
9. What was your biggest failure?
not getting my house back into order before the end of the year .. but it is happening!
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
nothing major. nothing i can even recall.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
lots of equipment for the markets to establish myself as site distributor.
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
smiley's. he learned to share in the most lovely way.
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
smiley's, when he was going through that horrible hormone surge earlier in the year. *sigh*
14. Where did most of your money go?
into my new business.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
going to the woodford folk festival again.
16. What song/album will always remind you of 2008?
none in particular, actually.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a. happier or sadder? happier.
b. thinner or fatter? thinner.
c. richer or poorer? richer, although that's not saying much. lol!
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
sales at the markets. & housework.
19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
slacking around the house instead of keeping it tidy.
20. How did you spend Christmas?
rushing around all the over the place & stressing about having so much to do & so many places to go. between those times, though, i had a lovely time catching up with all my frirends & family. 
21. How did you spend New Year's?
sleeping blissfully deeply.
22. Who did you spend the most time on the phone with?
sherry. we always have really long conversations. ones that leave me feeling better & happier for having spoken to her.
23. Did you fall in love in 2008?
yes.
24. How many one night stands in this last year?
none, thank you very much!
25. What was your favorite TV show?
don't have one. i almost never watch tv.
26. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
nope. i don't dwell on that sort of thing. it sucks your energy.
27. What did you want and get?
someone who cares for me in the most wonderful ways.
28. What did you want and not get?
can't think of anything that leaps out at me. i prefer to focus on the positive things.
29. What were your favourite films of this year?
nothing pops into mind. i enjoyed the few movies that i did see.
30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
i turned 36 & i can't remember what i did for my birthday. possibly nothing.
31. What kept you sane?
looking after smiley. i have to be sane. it's my job to make sure he's okay. although he almost makes me insane at times, too.
32. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
i don't really go in for that sort of thing. although i do recall i had a major hormonal thing going on for john barrowman at one point. that might have been last year, though.
33. What political issue stirred you the most?
i try to avoid politics, but the environment is always a big thing with me.
34. Who did you miss?
bruce, heaps, when i went to abu dhabi for three weeks.
35. Who was the best new person you met?
well, i would say bruce, but he's not 'new' since i've known him for about fifteen years. perhaps i should say kalena, a girl who sherry met on the plane on the way to brisbane to come & visit me & who she asked if i wouldn't mind giving a lift from the airport. we all kept in contact & she sent me a copy of an out of print book that i desperately wanted. i thought that was really sweet.
36. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008.
you have to look after yourself & enjoy life. but then i've always known that.
