how to get rid of my pet fruit flies? - 01:13 PM
(filed under 'animal')

ihad a 'pet' mouse or two for a little while. they went away, thankfully.

now i have these pet fruit flies that will not go away. i've been trying keep the stuff that they like out of their way, but then i have a fruit bowl. is it only rotting fruit & veg that they like, or will they keep hanging around the fresh stuff, too?

is there a way to get rid of them or will they eventually disappear on their own now that they have nothing to eat or sit on or whatever it is that they do with rotten fruit & veg? i won't use any type of chemical spray, so no need to suggest something like that. *wink*

they like fresh fruit too. they decimate the crop on my nectarine tree!

They should just go away if you've put your fruit away. This is why I don't have a fruit bowl any more too. I hate cold fruit, but now I keep my fruit in the fridge.

Oh... if you still have that pot for compost, they'd be all over that, so make sure the lid is firmly on, and maybe even keep that in the fridge too.

Mice... oh oh oh...

They did not go away, Coralie. They probably holed up some where in the house.

Set a trap under the kitchen sink and wait...
