i've found a new place! - 05:46 PM

well, i went out today to look at new places. i looked at several places & some were suitable, some not so suitable. one place i was able to get a key to look around inside. it's old, but it's big enough to fit my stuff in & it has a lock up garage for my car & plenty of room for other things which don't need to be in the house, so i filled in an application at about 3 pm.
i got a call two hours later to say that my application has been approved! woohoo!
it's nowhere near where i live now, but just across the other side of the city. it's closer to the city, close to public transport (when i choose to use it), & heaps of shops within walking distance. it's on quite a busy road, but that doesn't bother me so much. i've lived right on train lines before. you get used to the noise. a quieter place further away from the main road would have been nice, but then it would have been further away from other amenities, too.
the only bad thing is that they won't allow any pets, not even smiley's four tiny birds on the balcony. i hope the birds can stay at rudi & audrey's place for a while, & maybe once they see i'm looking after the place, i might ask if they'll reconsider.
so my lease will be starting on tuesday week, the 10th of march. that'll give me this week to pack, then the following week to move all my stuff, one van load (jo's going to let me borrow her van to move some stuff) at a time & then clean this place. bruce has offered to give me a hand, so i have at least one willing & able body. i'll rope in some others if i can, too. i'll have to move during the week, though, since i work weekends, so whoever is able to help has to be available on week days.
no matter. i've got enough time to do it all as long as i get cracking. 
good job real girl. certainly a get-it-done person. now the hunt for empty boxes will begin.
