oh, man. after three years break & now my third period just started, i'd really forgotten about the insane moods that can happen with such major hormonal upheavals.
last night i was so aggro about everything. the news was making me angry, tv ads were making me angry, even the little green & red triangles they used for showing the up & down movements of the stock market were making me annoyed. thankfully those moods only last about twenty-four hours. if i had to be like that for a week, i think i'd shoot myself .. unless somone else got to me before i had a chance to. lol!!

three weeks between - 07:25 AM
after i reported the return my period, i bought something which i've wanted to try ever since i heard of it, but haven't had the opportunity since i haven't had the need for it.
actually, i lie. at first when i saw it online (jade told me about it) i thought, "ewww!" but as i looked into it further, i realised that there's no reason my period should be eww at all. it's a perfectly normal thing to go through & there's certainly nothing wrong with it, or shameful, or gross, or something i need 'protection' from as the big companies who sell sanitary pads & tampons keep trying to convince women around the world.
so i bought a thing called the keeper. i've been using it quite successfully for the first twenty-four hours or so of my second period since i was pregnant with smiley.
mind you, i think i still have to trim the little tail thing a tad more. i feel like i'm being jabbed from the inside. it's certainly not painful, but it could be more comfortable. aside from the small adjustment still required, it's been marvellous! no leaks, no less comfortable than wearing tampons.
it arrived twenty-four days after the beginning of last one, rather than the 'usual' twenty-eight (i say 'usual' because every woman is different of course). i wonder how long it'll take to move into a more regular cycle?

well, there's one thing i definitely didn't miss with not having a period for three & a half years .. & that's the mood that goes along with it! i've been rather short-tempered all afternoon.
i had a big sleep this afternoon while smiley slept. i must have really needed it, because it's the first time i've had a sleep in the day for about six weeks. previously i'd almost always have a sleep in the day. i've felt that i needed once in all that time, but this is the first time that i've really, really needed it.

well, almost exactly a year ago i thought it had come back, but i was mistaken. tonight, however, there's no mistaking this. my period is finally back.
three & a half years (counting since i became pregnant, of course) is not a bad break, to say the least! lol!
i thought i'd be a bit disappointed by its return, but i'm actually kind of happy .. i guess.

i'm having some mild lower back pain which i usually only feel when it's that time of the month, which, for obvious reasons, it hasn't been for at least nine months. i'm breastfeeding, so surely it couldn't be that? i mean, i know it's meant to come back eventually, but this soon?
time will tell, i suppose.

they told me to make sure i keep my water intake up to ensure a good supply of breast milk. i've been drinking more water each day than i might have previously done in a week! it certainly must be all going into the production of breast milk, because the amount i've been peeing does not correspond to the amount of water i've been consuming.

my cold is still hanging in there a bit, although i'm not feeling sick as such, which is good. i'm having a coughing fit here & there & my throat is a bit dry, as well as having the obligatory mucus factory running overtime. i'm not having to blow my nose because of constant running or anything, instead it just kind of builds up back there until i'm suddenly all blocked up & i have to get rid of it somehow. where does all this mucus come from & why does it keep coming to me?
okay, that was probably too much information. sorry about that ..

possibly t.m.i (too much information): i think one of my boobs was leaking during the night. i woke up twice in the early hours with one side of my pajamas kind of wet. if it does it again i may have to start wearing a bra (or maybe my belly bra) to bed with a breast pad or two tucked in it.

shroom seems to have this freaky ability to know exactly when my bladder is full & goes to use the loo precisely 1.2 picoseconds before i decide that i need to go too.
