baby hare - 07:39 PM

this baby hare was found by one of the office ladies, stranded on its own in the middle of the very hot cement car park at work. it had ants crawling all over it & it didn't seem very well, so she saved it by putting it in the shade in a small dish of water to cool it down & make the ants go away. eventually i brought it inside & put it in a box, thinking that i might take it home. after doing a bit of research on the net, i read that they don't survive well in captivity & that they can look after themselves even at just a day or two old, so i released it later in the afternoon into the garden outside, under a bush.

i showed it around a bit to some of the other ladies who all thought, just as i did, how cute it was. a few big & tough boys came into the office to check it out too, under the guise of tough talk & jokes, but i'm sure they also thought it was really cute.

i took the picture of the hare in someone's hands so that we could see how small it was. right after i took it back in my own hands, it had a huge piss all over me. man, that hare could really hold some water for such a little creature!

incidentally, did you know that a baby hare is called a leveret?

I can tell you, most boys have an equally weak spot for babies (hares, ducks, sheep, humans). Of course, plenty won't admit it outright.
