six baby chickens .. very cute. 
they're about three weeks old here.
to get mcgarnicle used to them slowly, we let him sniff the box they were in for a while. after about ten or fifteen minutes we opened the top & he sniffed them some more. he was very good, didn't seem interested in eating them at all, just smelling them & trying to figure out what on earth they were.
eventually we took the baby chickens outside to the chook shed we made them. mcgarnicle was more interested in eating their chick starter food. they, on the other hand, were more interested in eating the termites in the corner of their shed.
