tour of the house - 06:22 PM
finally, here are some pics of the house.
[edit, thursday 4th of september: i found some old pictures of the house from before we had the inside repainted & moved in, so you can compare the old & the new. click here to see them. to open them in a new window, just hold down 'shift' as you click the link.]
- the lounge room with my computer to the right. shroom's computer is all the way over to the left, off camera, in what is kind of a very small dining room. there's no wall there, just a point where the carpet ends & the lino begins.
- the kitchen. just to give you an idea of what direction you're looking, if you look toward the back of the picture, through the kitchen, you can see the same wooden mask & clock hanging on the lounge room wall. also, the light coming from the left is through the sliding glass doors which are the entrance to the porch. if you look carefully through the kitchen window, you can just see one of shroom's computer monitors through the next window. (yes, he has two monitors.
)
- our bedroom, complete with my current configuration of pillows (there's a small belly pillow behind the light blue boomerang pillow) at the ready bedside my side of the bed. would you believe that i didn't have to make the bed especially for the picture, that it was already made from this morning? it's true! i'm so damn organised .. at least today, anyway.
- the spare room, the door of which was behind me when i took the lounge room picture. still a bit of a junk room, but ready for me to do some sewing & ready for shroom to set up another computer to do his business & tax stuff. the pillow & the camping mats leaning against the wall are there from when shroom's mate, stuart, stayed with us for a few days over the weekend of the housewarming party.
- the baby's room. it's down the hall from the spare room. this is just the cot, obviously. if i had a wide angle lens i could show you more of the room, but i don't, so i can't. also, yes, i know about putting the baby right at the end of the cot so it doesn't slide under the covers & suffocate, i only have the blanket pulled right up to the top for the sake of the picture.
- half of the bathroom. the bath is off camera to the left & the shower is behind that. nothing terribly special about them really, so i wasn't going to include a second picture of the bathroom just to show them.
- there's nothing terribly special about this room either, except that it might possibly be the world's smallest laundry. that's the linen cupboard door you can see to the left. if you open the linen cupboard, you can't use the main door to the laundry. also, there's about three millimetres (about a tenth of an inch) spare between the main door & the washing machine as you swing the door closed.
- the back porch, complete with hammock at the front, built in barbecue at the back right & currently two sets of tables & chairs. in the background you can see the tool shed & just behind that to the left is the chook shed. to the left you can see the window to our bedroom. the funny looking big white box near the window is a chest freezer & behind that is the clothes dryer.
- the world's coolest letterbox, which was handmade for us by one of shroom's good friends & his fiance. our letterbox rules!

It's a great house, light and apparently spacious (except for the laundry room of course), the painters did a good job too. Love the lounge &spare room windows!

I was using internet and looking for information from Brisbane and I found your web page! I loved your letter box of mosaic! I am from Brazil and use to do many things with mosaic too.
Really beautiful!
