the old paint job - 12:23 PM
i thought i might include some pics that i took of the inside of the house before we had the paint job done. i took these originally to show shroom when i was out looking at places while he was at work. he liked what he saw enough to come & look at the house himself .. & the rest is history.
most of these were, coincidentally, taken at almost the same angles. i've also included them in the same order as the pics i took yesterday to help compare.

- a very dingy lounge room with very yellow walls. bleah.
.. where the security thing in the corner is, is where the wooden mask is now.
- the kitchen, but from the other end of it. if i swung around to the right a bit, i'd be looking out onto the porch from the same angle as the ones i took yesterday.
- the corner of our bedroom. it looked so small with this kind of coffee-with-milk colour. when i looked at it with the new paint job i realised that it wasn't as small as i had first thought.
- a gorgeous (*cough!*) blue spare room. the colour itself isn't so bad really, but it was just too much & too dark for a house that isn't that large.
- the baby's room wasn't my style at all, what with the proliferation of rocking horses. if i want animals or things on the wall once bub comes i'll put them up with blu-tack or something so they can be changed as the babe grows up. we kept the cupboards built onto the wall (which you can't see in yesterday's pic), but they're just plain whitish now.
- the coffee colour again. the bench on the wall was painted the new colour. the burgandy didn't really go with anything else in the house once the rest was painted.
- the oh-so-small laundry. this gives a good idea of the previous colour of most of the door trims throughout the house.

It looks so much better now .. the old paint was much too dark (esp. for a smallish house like that)
